I'm just curious what the logic behind this is, exactly. a good deal of the price in buying servers frequently comes from a nice motherboard, chassis, etc. having to purchase those items twice is just taking away from other components you could be adding to one server-- more ram, more/faster cpu's, etc. not to mention the wasted overhead in just running the operating system twice. considering all of those factors, wouldn't it be logical to build a nicer single server rather than two "okay" servers? the only real advantages I see are 1) potentially httpd could be reachable when mysql isn't... but for something like vb, that's almost a moot point 2) at some point you're going to hit a point where buying a nicer CPU isn't really...... - 2009-07-03

In an experiment I am conducting, we are measuring the coefficient of kinetic friction by pulling a block on a horizontal surface using at a constant speed using a spring scale. I was out shooting on saturday and my Sb600 was working fine, then all of a sudden it would no longer zoom out to 14mm. I did not hit it and knock it into anything. I dont know why this has happened. I have the 18-55mm kit lens as well as a Sigma DG 28-70mm lens. When I use the Sigma lens on the camera I am unable to use the Fn button ( to change pictures modes: snow, pets, kids, etc) does anyone know why this is? When I use the kit lens, I can choose the modes, just not w/my Sigma. Also, with my Sigma (which is the lens I prefer) whichever setting I have it set on, occasionally when I press the shutter button, I can hear the camera click and it is almost like it doesn't take the picture. Today, as I got into my car after class, I noticed someone had broken into my car. I did not notice anything missing except the change that i had in the holder. I attend college at a major university (big ten). They (the campus police) have been sorta nasty about it. I had to go straight to work afterwards and called them on the way. I was wondering if anyone has been able to install vb on an AIT server. They don't 'support' mySQL, but if you can get it installed I suppose it would work. Some of my members that are really critical of Avatar image quality are saying that vBulletin degrades the quality of the initial image somewhat. Today, as I got into my car after class, I noticed someone had broken into my car. I did not notice anything missing except the change that i had in the holder. I was wondering if anyone has been able to install vb on an AIT server. They don't 'support' mySQL, but if you can get it installed I suppose it would work.
